Conduct a Leadership Training in Tynnered
At Scouterna, we are shaped by adventure. What happens in nature and what happens within us as we discover, challenge, and find courage together. For over a hundred years, Scouterna has ensured that children and adults from all parts of society experience adventure. Today, Scouterna provides over 80,000 children and adults with life-changing experiences. We are present from north to south, in 245 municipalities across the country.
Do you want to lead adventures?
Are you between 18-25 years old and want to be part of a wonderful team that runs the summer camp Day Camp Adventure for three weeks in Tynnered this summer? Then you might be the one we are looking for! Together with consultants from Scouterna, you will train young people (16-18 years) who will then become leaders at Day Camp Adventure and run Scouterna's day camp activities for children aged 8-11 years. Together with the consultant from Scouterna, you will support the camp activities.
During the first week of work, you will help train young people in leadership, including elements such as Adapted Leadership (https://www.scouterna.se/scout-ledare-kar/leda-scouting/planera/anpassa/) and Safe Meetings (https://www.scouterna.se/trygga-moten/), as well as practical outdoor activities such as fire-making and cooking on a camping stove.
We are looking for someone who:
- is between 18-25 years old.
- is social and enjoys meeting all kinds of people.
- likes to inspire and has a pedagogical ability.
- is attentive, self-assured, and has experience leading groups.
- preferably has held leadership roles in non-profit organizations.
- can work both individually and in a group.
- is self-driven and solution-oriented.
It is an advantage if you are a scout or scout leader.
The assignment involves:
- Being part of running a three-week camp during the day: First a week of leadership training for young people, followed by two weeks of day camp for children.
- Instructing and teaching various practical elements such as leading games for the children together with the young people, making fire, setting up shelters, and cooking on a camping stove, and supporting the young people as they teach outdoor skills to the children.
- Leading group discussions and collaborative exercises for the young people and supporting them in instructing how to conduct a safe and well-adapted activity according to Scouterna's Adapted Leadership and Safe Meetings.
- Handling various background tasks such as preparing materials and cooking.
Welcome to become part of the adventure!
